Great importance is placed on the natural light spectrum emitted by these compacts during production, rather than an excessively high UVB radiation content that could harm the kept animals. We recommend installing compact bulbs in LR Thermo Socket plus Reflectors. A proper reflector reflects 200% more light in the desired direction. Using poor quality or no reflector results in light being lost in the space and wasted.

Efficiently emits UVB at an angle of 82°, and at a distance of 30 cm from the body, the intensity is 20 microW/cm2 (data measured in the Thermo Socket plus Reflector).

The Compact UV Sun produces minimal heat, and since it is a UVB source, it is advisable to complement it with a full-color light bulb. We particularly recommend the LR Daylight Sun Compact or LR Halogen Sun.

Recommendation: like all other UVB radiation sources, we recommend replacing compact bulbs no later than after one year of use to ensure optimal UVB radiation output.
